Alex K.M. Mould appointed CEO of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC)

Alex K.M. Mould, Chief Executive of National Petroleum Authority (NPA) - the petroleum downstream regulator - has been appointed as CEO of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), the state oil company.
His appointment takes immediate effect .
Mr. Mould takes over from Nana Boakye Asafu-Adjaye who has been asked to take up his accumulated leave which ends in January 2014 and thereafter report to the Energy and Petroleum Ministry for re-assignment.
Edward Bawa who speaks for the Energy Ministry confirmed the appointment.
Mr. Mould was appointed Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority in 2009.
Between 1985 and 1994, Mr. Mould served as the special assistant to the director (Marketing) of GNPC.
Prior to joining the NPA ,Alex Mould was the Executive Director and Co-Head, Wholesale Bank of Standard Charted Bank Ghana from 1999 to 2008.

Mr. Alexander Kofi-Mensah Mould joined the Authority Petroleum Authority (NPA) in April 2009 after over 20 years experience in leadership positions in the downstream petroleum industry and the banking and financial sectors with multinational banking corporations in the USA and Accra, and nearly a decade of experience in the petroleum downstream sector with focus on Refining, Crude Oil and Petroleum Products Supply & Trading and Risk Management.

Before his appointment as Acting Chief Executive of the NPA, Alex was the Executive Director and Co-Head Wholesale Bank, Origination and Client Coverage, Ghana where he was responsible the corporate business. Alex joined SCB in 1995 in New York as a client relationship manager from Bankers Trust Company, where he worked as an investment banker in the energy merchant bank. He also worked with Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS), New York responsible for structured trade finance business in Latin America.
In 2001 Alex returned to Ghana and was responsible for developing structured trade/export finance business in West Africa, and in 2002 was appointed as Executive Director and Co-Head Wholesale Bank, Origination and Client Coverage, Ghana.
